This page is a placeholder for my garden pages.
I have a large garden in the Canadian Shield north of Kingston, Ontario where I grow organic (not certified) vegetables and fruits. I am particularly interested in:
- hardy grapes and their training for cold winters,
- hardy apples and pears, together with cider and perry making,
- elderberries, and elderberry winemaking
- strawberries,
- cranberry beans,
- open-pollinated tomatoes and heritage tomato varieties,
- french tarragon,
- Cassia fasciculata as a bumblebee attractant and legume in sandy soil,
- Hot and cool (worm) composting,
- pest control, exclusion of deer, chipmunks, raccoons etc. from the garden.
For a while I had some special pages dealing with such topics as use of woodash in gardens, cultivation of elderberry etc. in both English and French, these will be revised and may reappear at some future date.
